Participated at the International Palm Oil Conference organized by the Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) in Kuala Lumpur in July 2003

TRAININGS

Food Safety training courses in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bharu held in 2001 and 2002

Food Safety training course for a subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia in November, 2002

EUREGAP (Concepts and Application) a introductory training course for extension officers involved in the implementation of the Skim Akreditasi Ladang-Ladang Malaysia (SALM) project for the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture Malaysia in February 2003

‘HACCP’ Protocols and its Implementation in palm oil mills, a 2- day training program for senior palm oil mill personnel in Kuala Lumpur in October 2003

‘HACCP’ Protocols in and its Implementation in palm oil mills, a 2-day training in Palm Oil Mills for senior personnel in Sandakan, Sabah in February 2004

Training on Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and Food Safety Management based on HACCP for PT Astra Agro Lestari, Indonesia 8th – 17th December 2004.
qa plus conducted in-house training sessions for senior personnel of PT Astra Agro Lestari, a leading plantation company in Indonesia with some 260,000 hectares of oil palm. Training sessions were conducted by a team lead by Sathianathan Menon.

Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) and Food Safety in the Palm Oil Industry, Collaborated with the Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) to organize a 2-day seminar in Putrajaya, Selangor in February 2003

Seminar Asas Tani (IAT), organised by Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry. Presented paper entitled ‘Productivity, Efficiency and Market Access Through Implementation of EUREGAP on 18th February 2006

New Dynamics in Global Vegetable Oil Trade - Industry's Response?, qa plus collaborated with Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) organised the 2nd MPOA Seminar at Crowne Mutiara Plaza, Kuala Lumpur on 15th-16th May, 2006

 

WORKSHOPS

A partner with Bayer CropScience, made several presentations on Increased Productivity through Smart Alternatives (IPSA) in 2004

International Pepper Community (IPC) – 12th Pepperexim Meeting, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 29th September 2004.
Sathianathan Menon, Director of qa plus, participated in the IPC Meeting and made a presentation “EUREGAP: The Global Partnership for Safe and Sustainable Agriculture”

UNCTAD Sub-Regional Workshop on Environmental Requirements and Market Access for Hoticulture, in Bangkok, Thailand, 29th September – 1st October 2004.
- National Policy Dialogue on Hoticulture Market Access Issues Manila, Philippines, 2nd – 3rd December 2004.
Christie F. Robert, Managing Director of qa plus, served as a resource person at the above UNCTAD supported workshops giving presentations on EUREGAP and Implementation of Good Agricultural Practice.
